Efforts Launch in Ghana as Program Implementation Plan is Signed
In early June, Ghana’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture and its Statistical Service (GSS) signed a Program Implementation Plan (PIP) for the 50x2030 Initiative. With completion of the PIP, efforts will now launch in country to support the improvement and development of agricultural statistics which will strengthen evidence-based policies.
Ghana’s partnership with 50x2030 has been developed in line with the objectives of its National Medium Term Development Policy Framework 2022-2025, specifically the objectives to modernize and enhance agricultural production systems, improve post-harvest management, and strengthen production and utilization of statistics. 50x2030’s support also contributes to Ghana's involvement with an ongoing IDA project with the World Bank called Harmonizing and Improving Statistics in West Africa, or HISWA.
50x2030 activities in Ghana will commence with preparatory efforts needed to support the launch of an annual agricultural survey program, and conclude in the second half of 2024.
