50x2030 UN Statistical Commission side event: Recap and resources

Close to 150 people tuned in for the 50x2030 session on “Learning from partner country implementation to date” on 25 February on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the UN Statistical Commission. Haishan Fu, Director of the Development Data Group at the World Bank chaired the discussion, which looked at lessons on coordination and data generation emerging from the implementation of country activities.

The first half of the session explored coordination, specifically how the 50x2030 approach intervenes throughout the data value chain, and how through collaborations and partnerships the program seeks to improve data quality and production. The second half looked at the roll out of the 50x2030 integrated agricultural and rural survey program, which is a farm-based survey that includes a household socioeconomic survey in rural areas.

Panelists included the 50x2030 Initiative program manager, managers of the three program workstreams (Data Use, Data Production, and Methods and Tools Development), and representatives from the Central Statistical Agency of Ethiopia and the Uganda Bureau of Statistics.
