50x2030 presented at ICAS 2019

The Eighth International Conference on Agricultural Statistics (ICAS-VIII) was held on 18 -21 November 2019 in New Delhi. About 400 delegates from around the world gathered to discuss issues related to agricultural statistics development, focusing in particular on this year’s theme: ‘Statistics for transformation of agriculture to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)'.

In a plenary sessions chaired by Samaychan Boupha (Head of Lao Statistics Bureau), Jose Rosero Moncayo (Director of FAO’s Statistics Division) and Gero Carletto (Manager of the Living Standard Measurement Study team at the World Bank) presented the 50x2030 Initiative as an opportunity for national statistical systems to address the data demands for SDG monitoring, particularly those related to food and agriculture.
